ladies and gentlemen…i present to you one of the last few bands that continue give my affinity for hardcore hope: hundredth. and shoot, throw in a sandlot-themed music video and boom—what more could i want? nothing. maybe a pool. but that’s it.
it’s crazy to think that, two and a half years ago, my friends and i were a handful of the twelve or so that stuck around at the small-town YMCA venue for this little headlining band that no one knew. everyone came to see the hometown hero kids and left as soon as they played their last chugga, leaving a potentially discouraged final act. this band was hundredth, and that show (in front of twelve people) was the most passionate, real set i’ve seen in heavy music (and is a contender in my book for the most enjoyable, impacting experiences in live exposure that i’ve yet to encounter.). so excited to see these boys prosper and continue. Godspeed.
